Description of the decoration(s) • Top of the slab: Christ, with the Holy Ghost above him, is holding a sword and cross. He appears to redeem man - depicted on the globe below - via an intercessor. On either side of this scene a putto, holding a skull (left) and a hourglass (right). • Centre of the slab: the female figure to the left of the allied arms is perhaps Memoria, the one to the right might be Gloria. The cartouches in the centre, hanging from ribbons and decorated with strapwork, are held by a man and a woman.

Mentioned as student Franciscus Sixti Ayluwa on 1529/06/14 in Louvain. Frans was married to (1) Tjemck van Cammingha, who was buried in Dokkum, and (2) Rixt van Unia. Frans lived on Sytsemastate/Minnoltsmastate (estate) in Bornwird. His last will dates from 1563/01/20, when he was already ill.
