Translation
English translation Aleida, who was among people like a mirror of morals, a flower, a mother of honours, now lies in this grave. She was the noble ruler of Putten and Strijen. I pray, o Christ, that she may enjoy you and may be a giver of praise. - She died in the year 1316 after your years, o Christ, [on the feastday of SS] Paul and John.

Additional remarks
Additional remarks • The transcription is based on an earlier description of the monument as published in the literature. The majority of the text is now invisible because of the monument's current position in the recess; the text on her husband Nicolaas's slab is completely obscured. • The feast of the Saints John and Paul is celebrated on June 26. • Either the second or the fourth line is metrically not correct, as they do not correspond with each other.
