Translation
English translation In the year of the Lord 1517 on the 17th day of the month of August died the venerable sir, master Nicolaas van Lavennis, canon of the Dom Church in Utrecht and provost of St Peter's Church in Leiden, buried here, whose soul may rest in peace. Amen.
Dutch translation In het jaar des Heren 1517 op de 17de dag van de maand augustus stierf de eerbiedwaardige heer, meester Nicolaas van Lavennis, kanunnik van de Domkerk in Utrecht en proost van de St. Pieterskerk in Leiden, hier begraven, wiens ziel in vrede moge rusten. Amen.
