Short description The first of three registers containing the obligations for memorial services to be held annually by the Breda beguinage from the sixteenth century.
Additional remarks The other two subsequent registers cover the years 1586-1603 and 1825-1886 (Identifiers Stadsarchief Breda, ARC0517- 122 and 123). These two registers are not included in this database. Facsimiles of these registers are available on the website of Stadsarchief, Breda.

Conservation Parts of the paper that were gone (e.g., at the corners) have been restored. On many places the paper has been reinforced where it is sewn.

Provenance
Provenance In the nineteenth century, the register came into the hands of Prosper Cuypers van Velthoven, who claimed to have received it from a Breda chemist. He donated the register around 1870 to the State Archives in Brussels, of which occasion a note on the first flyleaf attests. In 1954, the register was transferred to the Stadsarchief Breda.
