Additional remarks According to Spitzen (1875, 179), the back of the cover had a slip of paper on it, stating (in 19th century print letters): "Een oud Handschrift door eenen tijdgenoot van den bekenden eerwaardigen Pater Egbert Ter Beke (welke in 1483 te Deventer overleden is) geschreven, behelzende de levensbeschrijving van dezen eerwaardigen geestelijken, alsmede die van zeven geestelijke zusters, welke bij gelegenheid dat de pest in 1483 in Deventer heerschte overleden zijn in 't Lammen Klooster, thans kazerne in de Pontsteeg te Deventer." According to Mulder (2009, 115-116) this slip may well have been a cutting from a 1839 catalogue of an auction in Deventer, in which Heerkens presumably acquired the manuscript.
