Additional remarks Herman (Proeninck/Proening) van Deventer was born in 1483 or 1484 to Gerit Hermans van Deventer and his wife Elisabeth Aelberts Ketelaer. Like his brothers Henrick and Albert, he was an alderman of the city. He was also warden of St John's church and in 1516/7 he was elected sworn brother of the Illustrious Confraternity of Our Lady, although this fell through due to his not belonging to the clergy; in 1524 he was instead admitted as a Swan Brother ('Zwanenbroeder'). Herman was married first to Hillegont, daughter of Mr Arnt Jans Kemp and Margaretha van Kessel, and then to Judith Dircx van Vechel, widow of alderman Gerit van Berkel (d. 1546). By his first wife Herman had a son named Henrick, who died without issue in 1558.

Additional remarks Hillegont was a daughter of Mr Arnt Jans Kemp and Margaretha van Kessel. She must have been born in 1489 or 1490. She was the firt wife of Herman (Proeninck/Proening) van Deventer. They had a son named Henrick, who died without issue in 1558.
