Short history of the building stages 1303: Replacement of an eleventh century church by a new church. 1350-1400: Construction of the current choir (fourteenth century). Ca. 1450: Construction of the nave and late Gothic portal. 1450-1500: Construction of the tower. 1696: Demolition of the (tower) steeple (replaced by a pavilion roof). 1462: The nave was damaged due to a city fire. 1500: Restoration of the nave (1462) and construction of the three westernmost bays of the nave. 1908-1917: Restoration of the tower. 1937-1943,1977- 1985: Restoration of the church.
Additional remarks Part of the inventory are several bells, for example one made by Jasper Moer (1533). Also parts of the inventory are a sandstone baptismal font (1554), three enclosed porches (1612), a pulpit (1679) and a church organ made by A. Wolfferts (1786; renovated by A.F.G. Heyneman). Numerous memorial tombs have been preserved.
