Short description Paper manuscript (1537), contains the second editing of the lives of the chronicle of the Egmond abbey, known as the Opusculum de gestis regalium abbatum monasterii sancti Athalberti ordinis sancti Benedicti in Egmonda, the Historia episcoporum Traiectensium et comitum Hollandiae and chronicles of the noble houses of Arkel, Egmond et cetera.
Additional remarks The Opusculum de gestis.. exists in two different editions. The first text, by Johannes a Leydis, covers the period up to 1484. The second edition extends the original text up to 1525 and also has radical changes in the original text (for example: abbot Nicolaas van Adrichem who was portrayed positively in the first edition, gets a negative judging in the second). This second edition, according to Roefs, originates from the abbey in Egmond and was possibly written by Theodoricus Bosman and Balduinus de Haga. The Opusculum de gestis-text in this manuscript Brussel, KB, 6045-6054 is a copy of the text in Leiden, UB, BPL 1818 (MeMO Text Carrier ID 28).

Remarks Entered the Carmelite monastery in Haarlem >1455. Prior there in 1476. 1479-1480 Prior Carmelite monastery in Woudsend. 1495 Subprior in Haarlem. Probably died in Haarlem in 1504, although 1525 is also mentioned. He had connections with the house of Brederode. Roefs, 1-25, Ebels, 'Johannes', 31.
Additional remarks Balduinus de Haga was librarian of the Egmond abbey (first half 16th century). Roefs argues he was the editor of the original text by Johannes a Leydis, using the Processus Reformationis by Theodericus Bosman. Possibly Theodericus Bosman, or someone close to him, has also done some editing of the chapters 90-95 (Roefs, p.44-45, 47). At the first folio of this manuscript: Est Cornelii Myeropii, praepositi Traiectensis, scriptus est anno Domini XVc xxxvii per Iohannem de Buyck iuvenum meum. Adriaan van Westphalen made notes in the margin.

Specification Abbot Nicolaas of Adrichem commissioned the original first edition, which speaks positively of him. After reforms in the monastery (1490-95) a different faction ruled that may have ordered this new edition of the original text, which puts Nicolaas in a negative way.
