Additional remarks Son of Willem Spierinck van Well and Margriet van Poelgeest. Theodoricus (or Theodorus) Spierinck van Well was the third mitred abbot of Berne Abbey. In 1559 he donated a stained-glass window to the Gouda St. Janskerk, representing the Annunciation (destroyed; remade in 1656). During the abbacy of Theodoricus Spierinck van Well, the abbey was looted by the Sea Beggars (1572) and destroyed (1579). According to Coppens (1843), he then fled to Culemborg, where he also died.
