Specification Several dates of origin have been proposed. Romein (1932, 117) and Roefs (1942, 27) advocated an early date: between 1467 and 1469. Hintzen (1922, 140) and Bruch (1956, 44) dated the Chronicon between 1485/1486 and 1494. Ebels-Hoving (1985, 35) proposed a date between 1475/1480 and 1485/1490.

Date
Argumentation
  • based on research
Specification According to an old catalogue of the Cotton library (Carasso-Kok 1981, 327) the manuscript once contained a chronicle reaching until the year 1470. In its present state, the chronicle breaks off in chapter 2 of book 10.
