Short history of the building stages <1400: It is likely that the nave was constructed in the fourteenth century. Ca. 1459: Construction of the choir and tower. Ca.1525: Construction of the saddle roof. 1870: The fourteenth century nave was replaced by the current neo-classicistic nave in 1870. 1906-1939: Renovation of the church. 1975-1976: Restoration.
Additional remarks The demolitionn of the nave in 1870 brought to light a large number of fifteenth-century wall paintings in the choir and on the wall of the tower. Those paintings that were heavily damaged, were removed, but the better preserved ones were restored. To the inventory also belong a tomb supposedly in memory of Dirck van Dorth (1532; choir), a pulpit (eighteenth century), a church organ (1876) and a stained-glass window (1940). In 1620 a crypt was constructed in memory of the lords of Dorth.
