English translation In the year of the Lord 1457 on the 23rd day of the month of October died the venerable master Willlem Gerritsz. van Leiden, doctor of Canon Law, canon and scholaster of this church of St Peter in Utrecht, buried here, whose soul may rest in peace. Amen.
Dutch translation In het jaar des Heren 1457 op de 23ste dag van de maand oktober stierf de eerbiedwaardige meester Willlem Gerritsz. van Leiden, doctor in het kerkelijk recht, kanunnik en scholaster van deze kerk van St. Pieter te Utrecht, hier begraven, wiens ziel in vrede moge rusten. Amen.
