Additional remarks • The Virgin and Child (centre) are adored by two kneeling saints. These figures cannot be identified; they are too damaged. • The inscription commemorates four persons while the sculpture shows the portraits of only two persons.

English translation Here lies buried Johan van Leiden and his wife Mechtelt, and Hen[rick] [va]n Leyden who died in the year of Our Lord 1435 on St Severin's eve (October 22). Pray for the souls. Then Ghert van Leyden was buried who died in the year of Our Lord 1456.
Dutch translation Hier ligt begraven Johan van Leiden en zijn vrouw Mechtelt, en Hen[rick] [va]n Leyden die stierf in het jaar ons Heren 1435 op St. Severinus-avond (22 oktober). Bid voor de zielen. Toen bijbegraven Ghert van Leyden die stierf in het jaar ons Heren 1456.
