In 1429, he acquired the Van Swieten graves in the Pieterskerk (St Peter's Church) in Leiden. He was the husband of Ludgard van Nijenrode and founder of Mariënpoel Convent. He lived in Leiden, in a house at Pieterskerkhof, opposite the Pieterskerk.
