Additional remarks Brugmans (De kroniek, p. 4) considers it a possibility it was made in commission of an abbot due to the neatness and care with which the manuscript was written. Due to the attention given to the buildings and lay brothers, Jaap van Moolenbroek (De abtenkroniek van Aduard, p.23) considers it possible the commissioner was a cellarer or a cellarer elected as abbot (Wolterus II may have been cellarer before he became abbot in 1494).
