Additional remarks Son of Johan Splintersz van Nijenrode, lord of Bolestein, and Geertruyd van der Oye. Frans was married to Johanna van Zuylen. In 1541, he became the owner of De Poel Manor in Breukelen. In 1553, Frans had a burial chapel built on the north side of the Buurkerk in Utrecht. Frans was an heir of Josina van Beieren-Schagen, lady of Schagen.
