Description of the decoration(s) • Centre: flower and fruit wreath. • Upper section: oblong strapwork cartouche decorated with a winged putto head, finial-like elements, mascarons, rosettes and a bucranium biting a ring; the cartouche is held up by two winged putti blowing trumpets/horns. • Lower section: two winged and half-naked putti - who both hold a torch and a hourglass - flank a sculptured sarcophagus on which a skeleton lying on a (straw) mat; the sarcophagus is decorated with a winged putto head, two animal heads biting a ring, and pilasters with Ionic capitals and clawlike bases; a recumbent (sleeping?) putto under the sarcophagus; two fuming oil lamps flanking the pilasters of the sarcophagus. • Edge: egg-and-dart moulding.
