Additional remarks The legend of St Christopher features a monk who instructed St Christopher in the Christian faith. Furthermore, he suggested that Christopher could serve Christ by taking travellers across the wild river. The wall painting also shows a monk. It is, however, more likely that this monk is a devotional portrait, seeing that he is depicted in prayer position. Based on his clothes, the man is probably a Franciscan.
