Additional remarks Variation on the last name: Tautenburg. Maria was a daughter of Georg Schenck van Toutenburg and Anna de Vos van Steenwijck. She was a sister of Frederik and Lodewijk, and half sister of Carel. Maria entered Rijnsburg Abbey in 1517-1518, she professed in 1524-1525, and became abbess in 1535.

Additional remarks Variation on the last name: Tautenburg. Georg was a son of Wilhelm Schenck von Toutenburg and Kunigunde von Tettauw. He originated from Thuringia (Germany), where his family owned barony Toutenburg. He came to the Netherlands in 1496, accompanying Friedrich von Baden. Georg was married to 1) Anna de Vos van Steenwijck (d. 1526), and 2) Johanna van Egmond. Georg built Toutenburg Castle in Vollenhove. In 1531 he became a member of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
